St Louis King of France
This beautiful medal features King Louis IX of France, patron of the Third Order of St Francis, holding the crown of thorns. This is to remind us that he built the beautiful chapel of St Chapelle in Paris to house this relic. The inscription around the edge is in Latin and reads “St Louis of France, King”.
 
The reverse features a decorative cross with fleur-de-lys in the background. This inscription is also in Latin and reads “Hail to the Cross, Our Only Hope”.
